Music Nairn is one of the best attended music societies with one of the highest memberships in Scotland. We aim to invite only musicians of the highest calibre to perform at our concerts, many with international reputations. Concerts are held monthly and are open to the public, apart from the Members' Evening.
We see the promotion of classical music, both old and new, as an important part of our function. We are very keen to encourage young concert-goers (students are offered tickets at a significant discount), and to promote local musical activity.
Our Steinway Piano - Through the generosity of local charities, voluntary organisations and many individuals, we were able to acquire a splendid Steinway Model B piano. The piano is a completely re-built 31 year-old instrument and numerous pianists have congratulated the society on owning one of the best concert pianos in private hands in Scotland.
Membership has a number of benefits to members and the society.
We hold our concerts at the Nairn Community & Arts Centre which has an excellent acoustic, tiered seating for over 150, and a maximum seating capacity of 300. The Centre has a licence for Music Nairn's concerts and concert-goers can enjoy wine and soft drinks before concerts and during intervals.
